Material safety
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 sets the benchmark for textile safety. Every part of our product, from the yarn and thread to our special fill and Velcro, has been tested against a list of over 1,000 harmful substances. Every item bearing the STANDARD 100 label has passed safety tests and is certified harmless to human health.

Compliance
We believe every customer has the right to know if any product they are purchasing contains chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Pet Dreams products were tested and certified free of the 900+ chemicals on the California Proposition 65 list.

Consumer safety
Phthalates are chemicals commonly used to make plastics such as PVC flexible. Pet Dreams products have been tested by a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission accredited laboratory and certified free of toxic phthalates, PVC and lead—because our dogs are children to us.

Independent performance testing
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International develops internationally recognized technical standards and testing procedures used to verify the quality, safety, and performance of materials, products, and systems.
In 2024 we partnered with Magill Services to measure the air flow and breathability of our crate covers using the ASTM D-737 Air Permeability test.
Our crate cover was tested five times against three major brands. The results showed no air could pass through the plastic-coated comparison covers, while Pet Dreams fabric allowed air to flow freely for a well-ventilated crate.
Industry recognition
Pet Dreams invented the Original Crate Pad, Crate Bumper, and Crate Cover in 1999.
We were the first company to design bedding for dog crates and became proud members of the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association (APPMA) in 1999.
